    prep? what prep?

I've decided to be all "bloggy" for a little while and write about what it takes to prepare for life overseas.
And then I thought about the prep that I have yet to actually complete and realized, I'm not even close to ready.
I've been relying on friendly reminders to update me on what I should be doing a month away from moving to Kenya.

-Oh yeah, so I'm leaving... finally...
my 'departing Canada' date is August 25th

So for the next little while I'm going to dedicate this blog to all things having to do with preparations and counting down to my departure.
I will be accompanying this format with home made countdown graphics (as seen on the right)
because it's been way too long since I've dipped my mouse into the creativity that is often floating around
beneath the surface of my task driven mind.

The image to the right depicts a merging of peacefulness with chaos.
It's really about how my life feels right now.
There is an overwhelming sense of calm in a time that could potentially be very stressful.
I credit this only to the provider of true peace
of course I know that a time will come very soon where this will prove to be more challenging than it may be this evening...
so I strive to keep my sights on my provider of peace daily.

On my list of things to do this week is really just a lot of red tape items and administration drivel.
(there is meaning behind my email address)

    1. renew my drivers license
    2. renew my health card
    3. renew my plates for 1 month
---all of which have expired a week ago--- oops!
(it's a kind of happy birthday message from the government,
demanding you pay them a couple hundred dollars to take a new photo... lame!)

    4. get my passport back with certification for item #5
    5. send in IRS form for individual taxpayer identification number so I wont be double taxed come next year
    6. finish the support letter I've been unable to write for 5 months (yikes)

that's about it for this week....
not a bad work load since tomorrow will hopefully knock of 4 of those items

haven't even thought about the packing, travelling or medical side of it yet
but I think I'll save those for next week so I don't lose my mind.

*I am currently fighting with my new laptop's keyboard as it often doesn't register keys typed unless I pound on them,
which I hate doing.. not that this is important, but after all.. I am being bloggy!*
